Mira el cielo y el sol baña su rostro.
El azul magnifico combinado con el blanco de las nubes lograron estremecer sus sentidos, arrancando asi una lagrima desde lo mas profundo de su ser. Cerro los ojos, pero su cuerpo, liberado volaba... podia recorrer cada rincon del amplio universo.
Mientras mas alto el vuelo lo llevaba, sus disfraces se fueron desvaneciendo, quemando y las cenizas cayeron al suelo haciendo teblar todo lo que en el reposaba. Edificios y persona vinieron abajo, quebrantando con ello ideales y convicciones.
Subio aun mas alto, y su ser se limpio por completo. La pureza le llevo al conocimiento total, y la felicidad lo embargo.
Asi sucedio y asi se recordara.

Alli.
Aun estas alli, desangrandote mientras yo, desafortunado, contemplo tu desdicha... sin saber que tambien es la mia. Con cada segundo que pasa, la sangre se torna mas oscura, y la falta de oxigeno que te tortura hace que muera instantaneamente una parte de mi ser. Tus ojos, mas profundos que lo usual, han tornado en un tunel que pareciera no tener fin... Y yo, que no me resigno a perderte me he lanzado a esta foza para salvarte o morir en el intento.

Enigma.
Toma el arma, fria y pesada, con toda su carga, sin pensarlo apunta desde su garganta a su cerebro. Tira el gatillo y siente como el metal atraviesa su piel, rasgandola de manera despiadada y dolorosa hasta que la bala se funde en su craneo con el organo pensante, quedando asi en un inanimado estado de ebriedad...
(Sobresalto)
Depierta en la cama, aun consciente pero moribundo, luego de haber cortado sus venas con una filosa hojilla, que abrio paso en su piel como un trineo que se deslisa montaña abajo en la estacion invernal. El oxigeno comienza a faltar. En vano es el esfuerzo de respirar, pues la sangre ha teñido las sabanas y continua la erupcion del magma vital. En un segundo el cuerpo se desploma...
(Reacciona)
Abre los ojos mientras en el aire sus pensamientos se congelan. Un segudo pasa a ser un año, y cada minuto es una nueva vida. El arrepentimiento. Los recuerdos ya no son mas oscuros, ahora lo ve, la luz y el regalo de vivir. Pero es demasiado tarde, solo un milisegundo mas y su cuerpo estara estrellado contra el suelo. Siente como su rostro se deforma continuamente al colicionar el duro asfalto. El molesto polvo ahora forma parte de la masa que yace sobre la avenida. Lo que nadie sospecha que aun un pulso electrico le recuerda que el dolor existe.
(Exala)
Con el ultimo aliento, deja que el aire salga de sus pulmones, y logra, impotente, ver las burbujas alejarse al tiempo que el agua invade cada lugar posible. Se van las esperanzas y no hay vuelta atras... ahora sin fuerzas y mas pesado. Las estrellas se hacen tenues, pero sabe que ahora esta cada instante mas cerca de ellas.

Problemas y soluciones aparecen y desaparecen en el horizonte, mas, el punto fijo en torno a lo que todo gira, se mantiene invariante a pesar de las lunas que pasan. Un terremoto, una tormenta, un nuevo dia o noche... aun esta alli.

News
Wow, today finally I could return to the blogger, for some reason it didn't work for me last week.
It was a nice week, in physics I did my first electroweak cross-sections and plots (all those that know me can imagine the turn in my life, he he he...), so, now I can tell you for sure that in a high energy annihilation e-,e+ the 2W channel dominates over the Z,H channel.
I'm finally understanding the renormalization group... Callan-Symasnik equations, RG flow and of course the running coupling constants.
In the personal, the best new in the week is that Alejandro is beginning to walk in the `andador'... so he's a grown boy, he he he.
That all (more or less), Bye.

Punto de Vista
- No Sr. Smith!!! Nooooo...
Pero fue demasiado tarde. Su cuerpo ya estaba suspendido en el aire, solo bajo la action de la gravedad, que lo conducía rápidamente a su inevitable destino. En tanto, el correr del viento jugaba con su larga cabellera, aquella que cuidaba con tanto empeño, el rozar del viento, ligero al inicio, fue transformandose en un verdugo de las lágrimas que de sus ojos brotaban.
- Es el final - Se dijo para si.
-...oooooo... - continuaba el grito del Sr. Gutenstein, quien durante varios meses acompañó a Sr. Smith en su atareado labor.
Las personas aún sin percatarse caminaban exsaustas por las aceras de esa cuidad en penas.
- Hace mucho tiempo que estamos muertos. No es el final, es el principio pues ya estabamos muertos. - Continuaba pensando el Sr. Smith.
El tiempo era ahora infinito. Mientras mas deseaba estrallarse contra el suelo, parecia dilatarse más y más el tiempo, quedando en un reposo casi absoluto. Todía observar cada cosa, cada detalle... recordar de principio a fin no solo su vida, sino las palabras, los versos, las sonrrisas, incluso cada frase de La Biblia, aquella a la que recurrió cientos, quizá miles de años atrás.
- Es imposible!!! - Exclamaba.
- ... ooooooo...
Ahora flotaba en el aire, como un acto mágico del que no podía escapar. El tiempo se detubo, no un segundo, sino por una o mas eternidades. Desde su pues to en el aire observo un universo inmovil, absurdo, patético y cuyo equilibrio ha sido maltratado una y otra vez. Sintiose vivo entonces, pues logró descifrar los misterios del espacio, del tiempo (si es que no son lo mismo), así como la existencia paradigmática del todo y su opuesto. Se percató que el cuerpo ya no lo limitaba y su Qu (o alma o espirítu) pudo teminar la agonía que lo perseguía.
Y mientras al final de los tiempos su Qu se elevaba aun más alto que lo concebible por el hombre, otros tan solo podían ver un cuerpo esparcido sobre la calle, sin vida. Al menos no como ellos la conocian.

Last weekend I saw The Tuxedo a nice movie of Jackie Chan. It was funny... specially when you see the backstage.
Through the week I saw the 4th season of The 4400, well... until the 11th episode.
Today, looking for information at IMDB.com, it was surprising that the movie The Shawshank Redemption is 2nd in the ranking of best movies. I thought that just I like that movie, specially because always, when I ask someone for the movie, they say.. ``I've never seen that one"
Another curious thing is that no one here seems to remember the song Barcelona, the one of the Olympic games, Barcelona '92. Weird,Isn't it?

Just ten years ago I began to study physics... yes!, what a long time. Since that, my live has changes a lot.
All the dreams of a teenager, the expectation of the new school, the curiosity and the thirst of knowledge. As every body knows, ``la vida te da sorpresas'', and mine is not the exception of the rule.

Today is a new day, after 10 years I finally feel I'm getting somewhere.
Opportunities: Well, there are still some cloud in front of the way, but as it seems the next crossroad will guide me into wonders of cosmos or the ultimate advances of particle physics.
The first one is an opportunity to work with Jorge Zanelli (the person I owe my actual success) studying different stages of Chern-Simon theories and other possible gravity theories available.
The second one is as great as the first... to work together with the Santa Maria's professors in collaboration with CERN, it represents a change to go Switzerland itself and perhaps working with people like J. Ellis or Alvarez-Gaume.
I just hope that whatever the result will be... it'll be the best choice.

Success of a Project
For a long time I've been interested on improving science education.
Today we move a step ahead in the evolution chain.
We've begun a series of seminars from student, for students... this a space for learning and discussion. As heads of the project my colleague Adolfo Toloza and I, began with exposition of several topics in mathematics (by myself) and a geometrical derivation of the Lorentz transformation (by Adolfo).
People seem to be interested, so let's hope it'll keep going.

Candidato a Doctor
Finalmente, despues de mucho esfuerzo y trabajo, hoy me dieron la noticia que aprové los examenes de calificación, asi que a partir de hoy paso a ser candidato a Doctor.
Muchas gracias a todas las personas que me han apoyado durante mis tiempos de pena y cuya confianza mantuvo mi entusiasmo e hizo renacer el amor perdido hacia mi carrera... que de una u otra manera paso por momentos a ser un karma mas que un gozo.
Este triunfo es no solo para mi, sino para todos ustedes. Miles de gracias a todos.
Y ahora... vamos por los ultimos cursos y la investigación.

Movies...
Long time ago, a good... sorry, an excellent friend of mine, Cesar, recommends me a cycle of movies based on musics.
Some of them were, Amadeus, Farinelli, Shine and The legend of 1900.
If you see the list of my favorites (just to your right), all of'em are there. Unfortunately, I got just one of those, say Amadeus. And just one (may be 2) weeks ago I got The legend of 1900.
Nonetheless, this weekend I found the other 2. Yesterday morning I saw Shine... and next weekend I'll see (once more) Farinelli.

So... Here I'm studying electrodynamics for today's exam.
What about it?
Well, this is about magnetostatics, electric and magnetic field on matter... you know, all that stuff on polarization, magnetization, hundred of different names for the constants which appear on your problem, and even Laplace equation, diff. eq. on power series, and of course (one must never forget it) Boundary Conditions.
Through the day I expect to make a review on the concepts, and (if I can) a formulas book.
Oh!, I finally get how to pass to the covariant formulation of the electrodynamics in a smooth way. Sooner I'll put something on my Math and Phys page, but if you are in a hurry, just check the second volume of Feynman's lectures on physics. I'll go mostly through that.

Que comida tan buena!!!!
Hola gente:
Este post no esta en Inglés porque simplemente, su contenido no puede ser descrito de otra forma mas que en la lengua madre.
Ayer, domingo (no se que fecha) pase media mañana cocinardo.

Ayer, domingo (no se que fecha) pase media mañana cocinardo.
- Carne: primero de sancocha, se esmecha.
- Sofrito: cebolla, pimenton, ajo y un chorizo.
- Caraotas: agua y candela... hasta que ablanden.
- Arroz: con unas rueditas de cebolla, un ajo y sal.
- Caraotas 2: una vez blanditas se le echa el sofrito y se cocina un rato más.
- Carne 2: se guisa la carne esmechada con tomate y algunos aliños.
- Tajadas: se taja un buen plátano maduro y se fríe.
- Otros: un huevo frito... y un trozo de queso.

Properties of the Partition Function.
After a course on Statistical Mechanics... including thermodynamics, phase transitions, statistics, ensembles (micro-canonical, canonical and grand-canonical), Fermi-Dirac and Bose-Einstein statistics, I should give an exposition on the properties of the Partition Function.

Growing faster.
Last Tuesday Alejandro was to a medical checking... the one of the first month.
He's 1.5 Kg heavier and 6 cm taller than when he was born. Not bad at all. :-) The only thing is that this rhythm of eating will make us bankrupt, he he he...

Despite yesterday began raining, everything change after knowing the result of an exam on Electrodynamics.
It really makes me feel proud... I got a 95%.

Being a father.
On April 24th, I became father... his name is Alejandro Javier (you can visit the blog http://alejandrocastilloriquelme.blogspot.com .
He's quit nice guy, doesn't cry to much, he's barely awake... but eats almost more than me.
Just two days before his birthday we went to Viña del Mar to walk... here there're some pictures.

Fighting against Windows Vista
Last week Leandra bought a new notebook... of course, by default it cames with Windows, moreover, the Vista version.
It seems almost impossible to get into this new operating system.
Nevertheless, Vista has an advantage over XP, it has all the needed installation `codex' for the printers, USB, et cetera.

- One is used to use a bunch of different programs in, let's say XP... but they don't work in this new plataform. Ex.: Real Audio. Furthermore, WMP is not allowed to play such a format.
- If you wanna install a free antivirus... that's an Odyssey (at least for me).
- Vista is felt to be slower than its antecedent XP.
- Among others...

New reading
I've been quit for a long time in the reading matter. Nonetheless, from time to time I get warmed up again and start to read.
Last 4 weeks I read my first whole book in English, The Godfather by Mario Puzo... incredibly, I spent just 3 weeks on read it. Also, last week I read Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Finally, last night I began to read A gift of winds by Richard Bach.
It's been nice enough to re-meet our old friends... books.

Trip to Pucon and Villarrica.
Welcome to Pucón, it's one of the most famous touristic place in Chile.The image you see above is the "beach" of Pucón, Why I'm using quotation marks? 'Cause is a Lake and not sea... what's a beach for me is.

My new departent
This year is bringing a lot of new things and feelings, one of them and most important, Alejandro. But now, by first time I rent an apartment.
If it's true, it has just 1 room, living, kitchen and bath, is the nicer place I've ever rent. Moreover, it's not so expensive, around 200 US$ monthly.
Nonetheless, I bought lots of things... washing machine, two place bed (including its furniture), et cereta.
Great... now I'm feeling like a future father.

I spent my `free' time in Panguipulli, it's a town in the 10th (oh, sorry now is 14th) region in the south of Chile.Here is the main square of the town.

Particle Physics in Reñaca.
Wow, It was not enough with a bunch of string theory... I attend just two weeks ago, the 4th CERN Latin American School on Particle Physics...
I spend a wonderful time learning about the other side of physics, experiments... and even phenomenology. That's a lot of work.
I did not know the huge amount of energy, money and effort people should put to develop this particles accelerators, and forth to analyze the bunch of data. Moreover, after all that work you must find the correct (let's hope) theory to explain the facts.
"Physics: Where the action is" as I think Feynman said.
Ah!!! Almost forget the best new. I was assigned to write the lecture notes of John Ellis on Cosmic Microwave Background. Such a nice experience.

Bariloche
Last January I went to Bariloche - Argentina, in order to attend a School on String Theory.
It was a great experience, I re-met three of my old diploma professors, George Thompson, Seif Randjbar-Daemi and Kumar Narain. Additionally, I met Ana Maria Font... after a long time, and David Tong.. he a great guy and he put lot of energy into his lectures. Second time I meet Nathan Berkovitz, Stefan Theisen and Carlos Nuñez.
Definitely I learn a lot, and the best part is I got the 5th place in the exam, not bad for a non stringer.. he he he.
